Obviously, if someone hires a certified personal trainer they are intending to get fitness coaching. But what does fitness mean? The term is sometimes used synonymously with the word wellness, even though they are not the same. The World Health Organization defines health as a "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Wellness is defined as a "a dynamic process of becoming aware of and making conscious choices toward a more balanced and healthy lifestyle."

High screen time equals lower fitness, even for active individuals. A new study from the American College of Sports Medicine suggests that young adults who tune in to two hours or more of TV per day have poor muscular fitness. Obesity was another negative effect of too much tune time.
