Countering Stress & Strain in Life to Reach Goals Accomplishing goals in life is probably one of the single most satisfying aspects of being human. To set a goal and then achieve it is by definition a "success" -- no matter how big or small it might be.
Foundations of Adult Fitness Balance & How to Engage Our Children What is fitness? Is it functionality or aesthetics? Is it strength or speed? Is it low cholesterol or low resting heart rate? Well, it is obviously all of those and much more.
More Rest, Fewer Lost Reps Sometimes taking a break isn't just a good idea, it's a good practice. Take, for instance, extending between-set recovery periods to minimize the number of "lost" reps in subsequent sets.
Understanding Hypertension Nearly 68 million people in the Unites States have hypertension, more commonly known as high blood pressure. While there are a number of potential causes, medical experts recommend preventing or treating most cases of hypertension with simple changes in diet and exercise.

Are You Too Thin?

The fear of getting fat is a powerful force that can be all consuming. It grips the mind and drives the sufferer ferociously, with no apparent concern about the impact on other areas of life.

It shows no mercy in its pursuit and often despite a conscious awareness that this 'suffering' is occurring, the vicious cycle continues.

Why is it, then, that the drive to be 'thin' ruthlessly continues regardless of the negative impact it can have on life? One of the first possible reasons lies in what 'being thin' and 'being fat' actually means. 'Being thin' seems to be much more acceptable than 'being fat' in our society. You don't have to look far in our mass media, and the glorifying of many celebrities (who amongst other attributes are 'thin', or 'too thin'), to see that 'thin' is revered and 'fat' is not. In fact being 'thin' almost subliminally communicates the underlying belief that if you are 'thin' you will be valued, loved, desired and wanted, as the celebrities who are 'thin' often are.

So why might this be relevant to you, or to someone you know? What has this to do with the drive to be thin?

The reason this may be relevant to you is because in your mind you may have associated being 'fat' with being unlovable, not valued, undesirable and not wanted. Therefore this is not a nourishing, rewarding, fulfilling or 'safe' place to be. In fact it could leave you quite destitute mentally, emotionally, physically or financially. Being 'thin' promises so much more than being 'fat'. It promises you a life rich with 'being' valued, loved, desired and wanted. It means you are safe in your world -- that you will be enriched and have a path that will be magnificent for you in every possible way. Look at the celebrities: it's a path paved in gold for many of them. You too could 'be' that or have that if you were 'thin', too.

But let's take a reality check for a moment. Is this perception rational or realistic? Of course not! For being 'thin' doesn't actually promise you anything. For there are many that are 'thin' and are destitute! Therefore rationally and realistically being 'thin' is not a guarantee of life success.

But is it possible for you to have a life where you don't have to 'miss' out on that special time with those close to you whilst simply and easily maintaining your weight stress-free? It is possible! Let's take a look at '3 Steps to Stress-Free Success' for you to take so that you get to have fun and look the best you've ever looked.

First Step

You need to take is be willing to look at being 'thin' and 'fat' in a new light. For seeing one as 'valued' and one as 'not valued' is actually what is keeping you stuck. They both are equal options in life that you are free to choose from. But are they the only options available for you?

Second Step

Take a moment to look at other possible options. Ask yourself 'if I was willing to open my mind to other options, what would these options be?' Allow the answer to arrive in its own time. You may find the answer will arrive as a picture in your mind or you may get a feeling or a sense of 'knowing' what it is. Be patient with the process and you'll get it.

Third Step

Once you have got an idea of what that option might be for you, be willing to capture it into one word. Would it be 'Strong', would it be 'Slim', would it be 'Beautiful'? What would that word be for you?

Once you've captured the essence of this new option reflect and affirm this as often as you can each day. You may not always feel 'Strong' or 'Slim' or 'Beautiful' but that doesn't mean you're not. Ride the waves of emotions each day while you stay centred in your new truth.

By connecting to this new truth regularly it will become more apparent daily as to 'how' to be the 'Strong', 'Slim' or 'Beautiful' woman you truly are. Whilst being more involved in other aspects of your life. For example you may start to bring your own food to family get-togethers. Or when you go out for dinner with friends you can order an entrée for main and skip the dessert. In both situations you get to have fun and not have to worry about getting fat.

As a result you'll not only have maintained your weight but you now have a life that you love. One that is full of value, love, desire and want. How perfect is that? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
